Environmental, Social, and Governance

ESG

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a serious issue at Profarma Distribuição. We believe that sustainable development is the path to a fairer, more ethical and responsible future. Our ESG actions are integrated into our culture and operations, reinforcing our role as a transforming agent in the healthcare chain.

Environmental

We adopt environmental practices that promote the conscious use of natural resources and the preservation of the environment:

Reuse and repurposing

We maximize the life cycle of materials by reusing and repurposing cardboard boxes in our operations. In 2024, more than 13 million boxes were reused.

Emissions inventory

We carry out an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, which has been awarded the Gold Seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program.

Eco-efficient CD

Our Distribution Centers are designed for sustainability, integrating pillars of responsible environmental practices. The methodology, as well as being certified by the Chico Mendes Institute's Green Seal, received the ECO2024 Award from Amcham Brasil in the Processes category. To be eco-efficient, a DC must adhere to at least eight of the ten pillars established.

Waste is sent to cooperatives for sorting and proper disposal.

Raising employee awareness of sustainable practices.

Transforming organic waste into fertilizer.

Reduced use of paper.

Implementation of technologies to optimize energy consumption.

Use of products that minimize environmental impact.

Reduced consumption of disposable items.

Efficient use of water resources.

Technology to improve operational efficiency.

Social

Present in all the states where we have Distribution Centers, the Profarma Institute - the Profarma Group's social responsibility multiplier institution - supports local NGOs, with strong employee engagement through the Ambassadors for Good volunteer network. In 2024 alone, more than 80 NGOs in 15 states were assisted, totaling more than 20 campaigns and impacting more than 270,000 people.
